Electric Eighty

This trio not only play electronic hits from the 1980’s, but sync their performance with the original video projected behind them…… How cool is that!!

We’re often asked when these guys are coming back as they’re always very well received, so here you are.

The Sweeney Todd Band

The Sweeney Todd Band is a traditional four-piece pop, rock and blues band who play a collection of absolute classics from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The band, based in Bognor Regis, use original gear to produce an authentic 1960s sound.

The Sweeney Todd Band bring together decades of gigging experience to get your feet tapping to songs by artists such as The Rolling Stones, The Searchers, Bob Dylan, Eddie Cochran and Fleetwood Mac. They play at venues throughout West Sussex and Hampshire.

Quo Incidence

After nearly fifty years in the business, Status Quo are still releasing hit singles and playing to sell out crowds all over the world. QUO have had more hits in the UK than any other band, selling over 118 million records worldwide and have appeared on Top Of The Pops 106 times, more than any other band. Still touring and making records, Status Quo are still very much in demand and showing no signs of hanging up their trademark Telecaster guitars just yet, and tonight, Cowplain Social Club are pround to present a brillaint tribute to this great band.

Quo-incidence are an authentic UK tribute to the legendary rockers, and have gigged the whole country faithfully re-creating the distinct ‘QUO’ sound since their formation in 1999, including gigs at the Vikingship Stadium in Hamar, Norway and Belgium respectively.

The band have played many venues and music festivals over the years and most recently appeared at the Spa Tribute Festival in Belgium and the Newt Beer Festival in Somerset, playing to crowds of over 5000 on each day.
Previous gigs include The Keswick Beer Festival, The Angus Show at Brechin Castle in Scotland, The Chalgrove Live Music Festival and Gosforth Park race course, amongst numerous others.

In 2009, after seeing the band’s performance, Quo bassist John ‘Rhino’ Edwards’ said ‘they were the best Quo tribute he had seen’.

This is (of course!!) in The Main Hall, no ticket required. Members can enjoy this fantastic night for free, but the event is open to non-members too who can simply pay £5 on the door.

See you there…. Denims & Trainers optional.

Louise Day/Blondie Tribute

Louise is a Hampshire based solo artist. For many years Louise fronted various live bands in the Thames Valley area, and her style, versatility and ability to sing various songs from all genres evolved. Louise has years of experience and has carefully crafted each song she sings.

Having spent great care and thought, her songs are all well-known classics, old time favourites, anthems, modern and recent chart toppers, plus a fantastic Blondie set.

Louise is a high calibre performer with a great stage presence, witty sense of humour, is always versatile, friendly and amenable, and all she really wants is for everyone to have a fantastic, great (quite often crazy) and memorable night. (As we did last time!)

Stony Broke

Stony Broke are a professional Duo consisting of Claire Daniels – lead vocals, and Phil Craig– Lead/Rythm Guitar & Vocals.

With a wealth of experience worldwide, Phil and Claire are an extremely versatile male female duo who are equally as comfortable performing on a large stage or more intimate venues with audience interaction. Stony Broke consistently deliver outstanding performances night after night.

With a wide repertoire ranging from popular 1950’s hits to the present day and an infectious stage rapport, Stony Broke have all the tools to please any audience and the ammunition to fill the dance floor. Tonight we welcome them to Cowplain Social Club.

The Beaten Tracks

BEATEN TRACKS are an unusual three-piece covers band from Bognor Regis.
Several years of playing solo, in bands, and together running Open Mic nights have led Sedge and Jon to an eclectic and sometimes surprising selection of acoustically based rock and pop covers.
Enter Steve, a versatile drummer with years of experience in professional touring groups in the UK and Europe, and with the perfect ability to flesh the songs out into a full band sound. Three vocalists, a dash of instrument swapping and no rules, other than to make the songs the best they can be, makes for a band with a difference.

BEATEN TRACKS may reference all the usual suspects such as The Beatles and Kings Of Leon, but their sets always include songs by less covered artists such as The Bangles, The Black Keys, Kim Wilde, The Police and Crowded House.

Lucy in the Sky

Lucy in the Sky is an exciting, lively, female vocalist and guitarist who performs covers of all your favourite songs to playing her own written songs with her beloved guitar. Forget the night in- a night out with Lucy is all you need!

Saturday 16th April

Is there ANYONE from the Pompey area who genuinely doesn’t know who Dave Barratt is??

No, we didn’t think so!

It’s time to introduce him to people North of the Hill.
